Very short non-fictionish stories which originally appeared in Parfait 1 and Parfait 2, based on family recollections and snapshots discovered in shoe boxes and old albums. As the narrative often skips years and sometimes decades within a story, the book is structured on a chronological baseline grid. The text of each story begins on the line that corresponds to the year the opening action takes place. If the narrative jumps years within the story, so does the text on the page. The snapshots which informed the stories are printed on the inside of the foredge-folded translucent pages. The images’ captions, tucked into the gutter, are also located on the grid the year they were taken.
